Outside is rain and though it's summertime, I have a sudden craving for an apple pie.
So, I'm going to turn you into a pie, little apple!
Before it's going into the oven.
"See you soon, Apple pie~."
Voila! Sweet and sour, a classic american apple pie is ready!
My mom was suggesting to use 'Kogyoku' (very sourly Japanese apple). Unfortunately, Kogyoku is not available in Hong Kong but there are many varieties of other apple you can find here like, Fuji, US Gala and Granny Smith from South Africa which I used this time. Granny Smith is probably the most similar to Kogyoku.
