Apricot jam and Scone

Baked some scones this morning as my mom suggested, and enjoyed her hand-made apricot jam that she've sent to me.

This is going to be a staple morning dish for a while.

Apple pie in Summer

Outside is rain and though it's summertime, I have a sudden craving for an apple pie.

So, I'm going to turn you into a pie, little apple!

Before it's going into the oven.

"See you soon, Apple pie~."

Voila!  Sweet and sour, a classic american apple pie is ready! 

My mom was suggesting to use 'Kogyoku' (very sourly Japanese apple).  Unfortunately, Kogyoku is not available in Hong Kong but there are many varieties of other apple you can find here like, Fuji, US Gala and Granny Smith from South Africa which I used this time.  Granny Smith is probably the most similar to Kogyoku.

Fetch!

Run! Run!

We went to the Peak this morning and bumped into an acquaintance and his dogs.  Margaux and Tora were so excited to encounter the new playmates!  

Oh, boy, they can run so fast!  Margaux is quite a sprinter as well, but has no chance against those Italian Greyhounds.

"Thank you playing with us!"

"Anytime, buddy."  (wrecked..)

Cyberport

We went to a park in Cyberport today.  Dogs are not as excited as usual.

"It's burning hot!"

The afternoon sunlight in Cyberport is so strong as it's located in the west of HK island.  

Tora is a master in finding a shade.

Water is a must item to carry when walking dogs in summer here.

Margaux and Tora sticks their snouts into the bowl and happily shares the drink.

"By the way, this place is huge!"

"Yes, it is!"

In this heat, we could find only few dogs and walkers.

"Well, had enough for today.  Let's go home~"

And Margaux and Tora hurried off towards the front gate. 

A new family member

By the end of this year, we will have a new family member.


It's not the kind with four legs but with two legs.


As much as I have been able to share stories about my dogs, I wish to express the joy of bringing up a new life in the future blog entry.


A new challenge will start for Margaux and Tora, but that's still a story long way to come.  For now as it is Tanabata today, we are going to wish upon a star that we'll have a healthy baby.  "Right?  Margaux and Tora!"

Margaux turned 2!

Our wild tomboy has turned two today!

At Sai Kung Town

We went to Sai Kung town for the first time in a while.  
And the dogs had an encounter with...

"wow, wait a sec..."

"hmm..."

"Is this what I think it is?"

"Are you stuffed duck toy, my friend?"

"but you look little bit scary..."

sniff, sniff...

"maybe not..."

Meanwhile, Tora met her distant relative.

"You look alike to me when I was small."

"Really?  How do you do."

"Hey sis, enough of investigation.."
