New year and reunion

We were over in Japan during turn of the year and so the dogs spent their own new year in Hong Kong.  The place where they stayed was a different one from the previous kennel.  This time, it was a 'group lodging'.  I was worried if they can get along with other dogs (especially Margaux), but according to the owner as he later explained, both Margaux and Tora mingled well with the pack.  These are the photos the owner took while we were away.

'Life in a pack'

From this expression on her face, I can tell Tora must've approached to the camera in hope of getting a treat!

A pug that is known to became a buddy with Margaux.

Some of the reasons why I liked this kennel were: dogs can roam freely inside the kennel; dogs get full and high volume exercises everyday; and the owner supports Cesar Millan's idea about psychological stability a dog gains from the experience of living in a pack.

Long waited and the day of pick up came.  The kennel's door opened, and there were dogs with eyes of great expectation.  I and Margaux spotted each other right away!

  ' !! '

While Margaux barked at me with joy, Tora heard her barking and rushed in from other room.  As Tora found me, she jumped on Margaux's back, trying to reach me over the fence.  Here is the scene.

  Excited dogs causing a scuffle

Despite their enthusiastic welcome, I had to keep myself cool, in order not to make my dogs protective of me.  Without trouble, I managed to relax them and left the kennel, and went home sweet home.

As soon as we got home, I bathed them.  It seemed a bit cruel as it was a cloudy and chilly day but I couldn't hug them if they were stinky, could I!!

Right after the bath, Margaux and Tora fell asleep in their cozy bed.

They slept through the whole afternoon until night time.

And slept more the following day.

How nice to be back home!   There's nowhere else like home!
Welcome home, Margaux and Tora and well.. I forgot to tell you,
'A Happy New Year!'
